Much cheaper than any tours!Food and drinks are expensive on the island as expected. For example, a coconut in KK market cost RM3 each, in Restaurents RM5 but in Manukan it is RM15! Dayang Bunting Island LOCATION
Dayang Bunting IslandLangkawi, Malaysia
A wonderful place to go with friends and family. The lake is a gold mine for beautiful photoshoots. If you are planning to go for a swim, make sure you rent a life jacket (a couple of MYR is nothing compared to your life).

You can search for island hopping packages for RM30/person (local) or RM35/person (foreigner) which includes Dayang Bunting Island, Beras Basah Island and Singa Besar Island (Eagle feeding). There are multiple agents at Cenang Beach that offers the packages. They will offer pick up and drop off services from your hotels.

Mamutik Island LOCATION
Tunku Abdul Rahman National ParkKota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Mamutik island is lovely. The sand is white and the water clear. But the island is too crowded- hundreds of Chinese tourists..It is pleasent place to enjoy the beaches and marine life by snorkeling and contact with sea fishes. Unfortunately, the island is too small and the number of visitors (especially noisy Chenese) is too large to enjoy they properly.

Sapi Island LOCATION
Kota Kinabalu 88000, Malaysia
Probably the best of the easily reached and public islands off Tanjung Aru in terms of snorkelling - having said that, don't expect the Red Sea as the coral is limited and badly damaged nowadays. Still, things to see and good for an afternoon or so. Small beach, busy at weekends. Good cafe. Zip wire between Sapi and Gaya islands is different. Worth the trip but manage your expectations if snorkelling.
