Top 10 Amazing Places To Visit In Brazil (South Amarica)

Corcovado Christ the Redeemer
You can get an absolutely phenomenal view of Rio from Corcovado. Getting to and from there I found a bit confusing and expensive (have to book train tickets in advance through the internet can't buy at the site anymore)

One thing though... it is really, really crowded this place. Don't worry about thieves, practically impossible for people to get here without spending a fair bit of cash so I think that reduces the risk quite a bit. The real danger I feel is people falling to their deaths trying to pose for best selfie - everyone is trying to take the same picture and not really looking around and aware of what they're doing. This is a fact of life at any big tourist attraction - just the viewing area at Corcovado being so small compounds this a bit.

Iguacu National Park
It is a truly beautiful trip, worthy of having at least half a day. Surely the falls are the strong point, but the whole park is interesting. If you decide to visit Foz de Iguacu, this park is a must. Getting there was easy, the bus station was near our hotel, the Bogari. The ride wasn't too long and when you get to the park, you can buy your ticket at the kiosk or window. From there you take a bus to the trail that you want. We took the trail to the Devil's throat. The scenery is amazing but the way to get there was nightmarish. The walkway is too narrow and there is no control of the flow of traffic. When you reach the end of the walkway there is a small circular platform to observe and take photos. You literally have to push your way to the edge to take photos. There were people of all ages, even infants being carried by their parents and even they were getting pushed and shoved. The platform sorely needs to be widened and extended as there are too many visitors.

Sugarloaf Mountain
Wonderful views of rio. Highly recommend. Go in a taxi, no need for a tour guide. Beautiful beach nearby Praia da urca.Sugarloaf was fantastic. The views were great. Everybody says to go to enjoy the sunset, and that is a good idea. Go more than an hour before sunset, that's when it gets really busy and things will be slow. There are lots of people trying to get pictures in the same place. There are shops and stuff. It's very touristy. The student discount was nice. Definitely worth a visit in Rio, you can't not go here. No reason to take a tour here, go on your own and you'll be fine. I had some friends that rock-climbed up and they really recommended that, for more adventurous people.

Parque Lage
There's a nice bar inside the building which once housed a prominent figure in the arts and his wife. It's not very large, so you will be able to visit most of the premises with 1-2hours. Don't fail to go inside the mini-aquarium and to go up the tower. It's worth the Buildings a bit shabby but still a spectacular residence. Gardens cover a large area and offer many trails. Not an essential stop but worthy of consideration.

Mosteiro De Sao Bento
If you like history is a good place to go. Represents the beginings of São Paulo City. I couldn't know the museum inside the old building but the restaurant - a good example of architectural retrofit - justify your visit. This monastery is a piece of art where you rarely find something like this in this busy area.
The floor, the ceiling, the walls, the altar and the domes keep calling visitors to have a second and third and tenth look at their beautiful art.
After visiting the congregational hall turn right before exiting, where the gift shop is located, to reach this corridor which has very interesting paintings. There is another room in this corridor which has some beautiful pieces of art. You can ask the management if they can open the door for you to have a look.

Santa Cruz da Barra Fortress
This is a 'must see' for a fortification enthusiast. Excellent location for securing Guanabara bay and Rio de Janeiro. Very well maintained although some of the guns are rusting and could use restoration. Fabulous views over the channel especially at sunset.
Great view of Rio. Sometimes very narrow roads to get there. Tell guard you are going to see the view, when asked to stop at entry. No problem.

Very old town and nice Brazilian imperial atmosphere enjoy eat and walk in this place. If you come in July bring a jack it can be cold weather. Use a comfortable shoes because the street are solid rocks!Great place to walk at day or night, have a coffee, grab a snack or go for a meal in one of the many restaurants in the area. The place has a lot of history and things to see.

Ponta Negra Beach
Nice beach, good toilet and shower facilities, broad but not over-powering selection of tourist shops and snack vendors.Beautiful beach at the shore of Rio Negro. The experience could be a 4 or 5 star one if the beach was cleaner and less noise polluted.
Ponta Negra Beach is an interesting place to walk and enjoy the people around. There is a parking place and several options to drink and eat. It an amazing view at sunset in front of the beautiful Rio Negro River. The water from the river is really black! If you have time, go to see Tropical Hotel that is in front of the beach, it is an amazing colonial style building.

Ukranian Memorial
The Ukrainian Memorial in Curitiba is well worth a visit. In a small park alongside Parque Tingui, it contains a replica of a Byzantine-style church with a detached bell tower. There is a small gift shop with a very friendly shopkeeper. Outside the gift shop is a small monument commemorating the Holodomor, the genocide by man-made famine of more than 3 million Ukrainians by the Stalin regime. Inside the church are displays of religious icons and display cases of pessankas, colorfully painted eggs for which the Ukrainians are famous. Near the bell tower is a metal sculpture resembling a pessanka, with a different design on each side.

Triple Frontier
Interesting to see 3 countries separated by 2 rivers. On the Brazilian side, the place has been revamped with shops, a playground and a nice restaurant. A free show in the evening celebrating the culture of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.Great place to visit, tickets were of reasonable price, though I thought it were a bit silly to sell them only for a specific date and not in general. The view during the sunset is so lovely and the place has recently been refurbished so it all looks fantastic. Loved the restaurant by the border, the caipirinhas and beer was AMAZING! And such a good price too! Definitely worth to pay a visit!
