The Bund (Wai Tan)
Shanghai World Financial Center
This is a 632 meter tall Skyscraper which happens to be the second tallest building of earth (as of now).
There are 118 floors with two basement levels below the ground level.
The elevator climbs up with a speed of 18m/sec taking only 53 seconds to reach the 117th floor from the bottom most basement level. In the downward journey however the speed is regulated to 10 m/sec.
This also happens to be a LEED Platinum Certified Green Building certified by US GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL. Thus it is the epitome of energy efficiency & maximises rain water harvesting.

Really great view from the bund wall. You can see the new cosmopolitan view over the river with all the big financial buildings and hotels and compare it to the old traditional English buildings on the other side. The view is particularly great at night with all the buildings lit up and the effects projected on to them. Don't miss this!
Historical buildings with amazing beautiful river views, Night scene is superb! Yet there's just always loaded with people and tourists You better get your metro return ticket in advance! the line-up is nasty, and you just can't compete with nasty Chinese in line..

Shanghai Disneyland
Shanghai Disneyland has welcome more than 1 million visitors during its first year of operation. You and your friends and your kids can have a lot of fun and a good time there. Classic attractions are there as well as the new ones (TRON, Marvel, Star Wars etc.), Plenty of space, safe and professionally run. It meets the Disney Standard high five (I have already visited the ones in Orlando and in Anaheim as well as the one in Tokyo).

Shanghai Tower
Tallest building in Shanghai and China with a stunning 360 degrees view, fastest lifts in the world and a very interesting presentation about skyscrapers, located directly at a metro station in Pudong. Entrance fee 180¥ per person, students 120¥ and kids 90¥. Definitely worth a visit, better than the TV tower
Shanghai Tower is currently the second tallest building in the world behind Burj Khalifa, but boasts of the highest observation deck and the faster elevator to take you upto the 118th floor.

China Railway High-speed
The high speed trains in China are a good alternative to flying. Service is reliable and fast. Seats are spacious. You can prebook tickets on Ctrip (you'll get a booking code that can be exchanged on major Chinese railway stations for a ticket). Try it yourself!
Chinese Railways are reliable and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I used a company China Discovery to book my tickets. You need to book well in advance to get your train tickets as they sell out! Tip if going on an over night train, do not book a hard seat, unless you are on an extremely tight budget, you wont get any sleep! Go for a hard sleeper at the very minimal! Safe travels, enjoy!
